We had the unique opportunity to work with some people from Sacred Heart University to locate, tag, and start to track horseshoe crabs from right in our own backyard. Mrs. Wallace took some great pictures and hopefully if you click here, you can see them.
Most of us, myself included, did not realize until quite recently just how important this species is to life as we know it. We watched a great PBS video before we went (watch it here).
I will post info about the tracking numbers and website for the Limulus Project so that you can check back from time to time and see if our crabs are sighted elsewhere! This is truly science at its best and we have Mr. Ginsburg to thank for organizing it all.
