Reading Log in our planners – save a tree

Math worksheet – both sides

Finish your SS reading if you haven’t already

States and Capitals quiz on Friday

Homework is a given Monday through Friday and should take about 45 minutes to complete.  Fourth graders should read a minimum of 20 minutes nightly, jot down what they read on their bi-weekly reading log, and may record an optional comment or question.  You are encouraged to read a variety of genres.  Chapter books, reading to your little brother or sister, checking out the latest in the newspaper, or even reading a recipe to help cook dinner one night are all acceptable types of reading!  In addition to reading, you can expect math practice, spelling, and occasionally a science or writing practice of some kind.

Students earn tickets daily and weekly through good deeds, work well done, and Friday paychecks.  Ten tickets can buy you a ’roundtuit,’ and as we like to say, “you don’t have to do it if you get a ’roundtuit’.'  This comes in really handy when you’ve got a busy night or aren’t feeling well, or when you don’t want to tarnish your perfect homework record if you’ve forgotten to bring it in.

  6. Mrs. Connell says:

There are many. Go to our curriculum site and click on some of the names under the section called “Explorer Sites Recommended by the AMA” – that will give you some suggestions! Better yet, go to my page about Social Studies. I’ve updated it with currently active links that have great kid-friendly research.

    Delaney,
Sorry I didn’t post it to this page. It’s the first post you see on the site today, which has all your writing pieces attached as links. Work on your writing piece. Sorry I wasn’t clearer!
