Learning with Ms. Manganello

Ah!  The homework issue!   Tonight the children were asked to think of a “Homework Plan”.  A plan always helps to get things done.  Homework is important to review and practice skills learned in class, but also to work on organization, responsibility, and discipline.  In general, homework will be given on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings.  The children will also be asked to write their spelling words in their Homework Journal on Monday evenings.  There will be long term assignments such as book reports and projects for Science and Social Studies.  Occasionally we will have an assignment that is given on Monday and due that Friday.

My purpose is not to overwhelm the children but to begin to set the stage for more demanding assignments in fourth grade and beyond.  Please know that your child should not spend more than an hour on homework at any one time unless it is their choice.  Please email me if this is a problem.
