Final Post

Blogging was just introduced to me this year, and I loved it. I was able to talk about someone that I not only admire, but someone I look up to. In the future I see many people talking about Michael Jordan. He is known to be one of, or the best player currently to ever play the game of basketball. But before I go, I would like to thank all you readers for giving me your feedback on what I had to say, much appreciated and happy blogging.

How Many?

” To be successful you have to be selfish, or else you never achieve. and once you get to your highest level, then you have to be unselfish. Stay reachable. Stay in touch. Don’t isolate”- Michael Jordan

Where’s LeBron?

When LeBron James first started his career, everyone  knew they were in for a surprise. People predicted that he could potentially have what it takes to possibly follow in Michael Jordan’s footsteps. First put on the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron couldnt  lead the team to a national championship. Even after consecutive years of falling short, no one questioned LeBron’s ability as a player. In this up coming season, LeBron James decided to take his talent to Miami to join Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. These three players have come a long way this season. The season started out rough but they figured out a way to climb up to the top. Right now, they are leading the Boston Celtics 3-1. Just one more game and LeBron is that much closer to winning a championship. Personally, I think LeBron is an outstanding player, but he cannot be compared to Jordan just yet. James still has a long way to go, but as we have all seen, nothing will stop him.

Passion

“I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.”-Michael Jordan
Your probably wondering why I choose this quote to represent Michael. The biggest reason is because when Jordan was in high school, he did not make the basketball team his sophomore year. I’m sure we all know he was devastated, but that did not stop Jordan’s passion to become better. He accepted the fact that he wasn’t going to be on play varsity his sophomore year, but he practiced all the time to become a better player. From high school, Jordan went to play for the University of North Carolina, where he won a championship and from there his career bloomed. Right out of college he was drafted to the Chicago Bulls where his career really started to take off. All in all, this quote of Micheal proves that even after failure, he was able to battle back, improve his skills and go on to be an NBA legend!

Jordan vs. Bryant

kobe

Many times today, Kobe Bryant is compared to Michael Jordan. This is probably because, ever since Michael retired there has be no one to fill his shoes. Ever since Bryant arose and became one of the BIGGEST threats in the game, many have said that he is the next Michael Jordan. Kobe is an outstanding player, I’m not here trying to persuade you that he has no talent ; because if i said that I would be lying.

Opposing teams try to strategizebefore facing Kobe and the Lakers, or mainly just Kobe. From what Ihave seen, teams have tried to double team and triple team Bryant; but that doesn’t stop him. No matter what is thrown at him, Kobe Bryant will more then likely always find a way around it , just like Michael did. In many aspects Kobe does relate to Jordan and how he played, but there’s no way anyone will ever be able to come close to how Jordan played and the magic he created.

Why 23?

23

Many people probably believe that professional players just pick random numbers to wear on their backs, but that’s not the case for MJ.  Jordan choose the number 23 because of one thing and one thing only. His older brother Larry wore the number 45. Michael idolized and wanted to be half the man his brother was, so in that case he wore number 23. (because 45 divided by two is 22.5, round that up and you get 23) Michael respected and looked up to his big brother, just like all younger siblings do. Why do all you athletes choose the number you will be wearing?

Air Jordan

Personally, I think Michael Jordan has been the greatest Basketball player to ever play in the NBA. Michal has been my favorite player ever since I was little kid. Not only was Jordan an NBA player, he is an active businessman and a majority owner of the Charolette Bobcats.

It all started in 1982.  Michael attended The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was a part of their National championship team where he later joined the Chicago Bulls in 1984. Many of us Jordan fans know that he was cut from his high school team, but in no way at all did this deprive Jordan from wanting to become the greatest!  The only thing that bugs me is when the old number 23 (Jordan) is compared to the new 23 (Kobe Bryant). Don’t get me wrong, Bryant is an outstanding player and is one of the best TODAY. But, even with his four titles I believe Jordan is more liked. Right away, Jordan became a fan favorite even in opposing arenas. Today, you either like or dislike Kobe. What do you guy’s think?
