I really enjoyed this book. Bird McGill has always dreamed of flying a P-40 fighter plane engine. Her father(the only one who believes she can do it)goes off to fight in a war against the Japenese and crashes his plane into the ocean. Kenji, a Japenese boy who joins her class, forms a friendship with Bird. Farley Peck, a bully from their school, laying dead in the water and accuses Kenji’s uncle. Bird runs into the real killer, who thretens to kill her family if she tells anyone. She finds out who it is, she also finds out that he is trying to kill the president and does everything she can to try to stop him. When he is caught, they appoligize for accusing Kenji’s uncle and Bird and Kenji now known as heros.
