I really enjoyed this book. My favorite part is when Minli decides she wants to change her family’s fortune, so with the hep of a talking fish, she leaves the house while her parents were out in the field. She always believes the storys her father tells her,so she sets off to find the Old Man of the Moon.she knows the Old Man of the Moon can help. On her journey, Minli runs into a dragon who can’t fly. The dragon goes with her so he too, can talk to the Old Man of the Moon. As her journey continues, Minli runs into a powerful king, who helps her to get The Borrowed Line. Meanwhile, the dragon is talking to stone lions. They have a different Borrowed Line. With the 2 Borrowed Lines, Minli and The Dragon approach Never Ending Mountain, Where they will find The Old Man of the Moon. Using the 2 borrowed lines, Minli makes her way up to the Old Man of the Moon. Finding that she can only ask 1 question, she realized that her’s wasn’t very important, so she asked the dragon’s question. The dragon flew her home and Minli’s fortune changed anyway, now that she was home.
